AMPED Tri-Release Protein FAQ
The newest member of the AMPED line, AMPED Tri-Release Protein, is a multistage blend of fast-, medium-, and slow-release protein, plus patented Velositol, for sustained muscle protein synthesis (MPS). Below, we cover the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions. To learn even more about Tri-Release Protein, check out our toolkit.
What kind of protein does Tri-Release Protein contain?
Tri-Release Protein contains a blend of three types of protein: whey protein isolate, which is rapidly digested, egg white protein, which has an intermediate rate of digestion, and milk protein concentrate (a source of casein), which is digested slowly. Protein variety is key for immediate and sustained amino acid release.
How does protein play a role in supporting my training and recovery? How does protein help me get the best results?
Multiple investigations suggest that a higher protein intake has a significant impact on strength and performance. Even endurance athletes can benefit from a higher level of protein intake. Adding protein to a carbohydrate-rich beverage during exhaustive endurance exercise suppresses markers of muscle damage and decreases muscle soreness after your workout. In addition, combining protein and carbohydrate consumption during a prolonged bout of endurance exercise promotes a higher whole-body net protein balance.
What is muscle protein synthesis? How does it work, and why is it important?
MPS is a normal part of metabolism the body goes through to either build or rebuild proteins in the body. Muscle growth occurs when rates of MPS exceed that of muscle breakdown. This is important because if the rate of muscle breakdown is faster than muscle protein synthesis, loss of lean mass can occur. This can hurt performance outcomes and worsen overall health.
What is Velositol®? What are the effects when combined with protein, and how does it promote greater MPS compared to protein alone?
Velositol® is a patented amylopectin chromium complex designed to improve the efficiency of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) to maximize MPS when combined with protein. In a clinical study, researchers showed that MPS was enhanced when participants used Velositol® after exercise compared to protein alone (1).
How does chromium contribute to the overall benefits of Tri-Release Protein?
Chromium supports fat, protein, and carbohydrate metabolism in the body. The percent daily value of chromium is the minimum amount of chromium needed to prevent deficiency in most healthy people. However, consuming chromium beyond the percent daily value is safe and may provide added function.
I exercise, but I don’t know if I exercise enough to warrant more protein. Are my workouts really intense enough for a protein boost to be effective?
Protein is an essential part of any nutrition plan designed to support overall health and wellness. With increased amounts of activity, your protein needs increase. Therefore, any active individual can benefit from additional protein throughout their day. Whether your exercise of choice is a brisk walk, a long run, or a strenuous strength training routine in the gym, supplementing with protein is essential is supporting the repair and growth of lean muscle mass. If I don’t work out, will I still benefit from this product?
AMPED Tri-Release Protein is a good option for those looking to lose weight or add more protein to their diets as well as those who work out regularly. Increased levels of protein can support weight loss goals by maintaining lean muscle mass and increasing satiety (2). This product can assist in the building of lean muscle when combined with regular resistance training and a healthy balanced diet.
I’m so afraid of putting weight back on. How can I be sure that taking this protein won’t derail my weight loss progress?
As part of a healthy lifestyle designed to support weight loss, consuming targeted amounts of protein throughout the day can support weight loss efforts, help keep you satisfied, and improve body composition (3). In a clinical research study using Isagenix products, researchers found that consuming a diet higher in protein helped participants lose more body fat, more body weight, and more abdominal fat all while maintaining lean body mass (4). For more information about this study, see this article: IsagenixHealth.net/Protein-Pacing-Works-Fat-Loss.
Is Tri-Release Protein a meal replacement?
No, AMPED Tri-Release Protein is a premium protein supplement and does not contain carbohydrates, fats, or other nutrients at a level suitable for the nutrition profile of a full meal.
How is AMPED Tri-Release Protein different from IsaPro and IsaLean PRO Shake?
While AMPED Tri-Release Protein, IsaPro™, and IsaLean™ PRO Shake are all packed with high-quality protein, Tri-Release Protein is a multistage protein supplement made with whey protein isolate, egg white protein, and milk protein concentrate and is formulated to support muscle growth and performance goals. By contrast, IsaPro is a whey protein supplement, and IsaLean PRO is a full meal replacement shake made from the same high-quality whey protein.
Who can consume AMPED Tri-Release Protein?
Tri-Release Protein is recommended for adults age 18 and older. This product is not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
When should I consume AMPED Tri-Release Protein?
Tri-Release Protein can be used as a pre-workout supplement to support working muscles during exercise or as a post-workout supplement to support recovering muscles. It can also be used on nontraining days or as a snack between meals to supplement daily protein intake.
How many servings can I consume per day?
Up to two servings of Tri-Release Protein can be consumed each day.
What makes AMPED Tri-Release Protein keto-friendly?
As a protein supplement, Tri-Release Protein does not contain enough fat to be considered a truly ketogenic product. However, for those interested in reducing sugar intake or limiting total carbohydrates, including those on a ketogenic diet, Tri-Release Protein can be a good “keto-friendly” option to help achieve protein needs.
Is AMPED Tri-Release Protein a safe choice for competitive athletes concerned about products containing banned substances?
Yes! Tri-Release Protein is Informed-Sport certified, meaning every batch is tested by an independent laboratory under strict specifications to detect substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Informed-Sport also ensures that products have been manufactured to high quality and purity standards, which is in line with the Isagenix no-compromise commitment.
